What are the characteristics of aluminum profiles?

Erosion resistance

The aluminum profile is only 2.7 g/cm3 in density, which is about 1/3 of the density of steel, copper or brass (7.83 g/cm3 and 8.93 g/cm3, respectively). Aluminum can show excellent corrosion resistance in most environmental conditions, including the air, water (or brine), petro-chemistry, and many chemical systems.

Conductivity

Aluminum profiles are often chosen by virtue of their good electrical conductivity. On the basis of equal weight, the electrical conductivity of aluminum is nearly twice that of copper.

Thermal conductivity rate

The thermal conductivity rate of Aluminum alloy is about 50-60% of that of copper, which is favorable to manufacturing the heat exchangers, evaporators, heating appliances, cooking tools, and automotive cylinder heads and radiators.

Non-ferromagnetic

Aluminum profiles are non-ferromagnetic, which is an important characteristic for the electrical industry and electronic industry. Aluminum profiles can't be spontaneously ignitable, which is important for loading and unloading or touching the flammable and explosive materials.

Machinability

The aluminum profile has good machinability. For the deformed aluminum alloy and the cast aluminum alloy, and in various states produced after the alloy output, the machining characteristics have considerable change, then the special machine tool is needed.

Formability

The specific tensile strength, yield strength, ductility, and corresponding working hardening rate control the change of allowable deformation.

Recycling

Aluminum has high recycling, and the secondary aluminum almost has the same characteristics as the primary aluminum.
